The recce team cycling 2830kms from Johannesburg to Cape Town to plan the Long Ride To Freedom in September had an incredible ride yesterday. From the storms that were brewing on Windy.com we thought they might be in for a tough day but it turned out one of their best days yet as they rolled into Port St. John’s from Kokstad.
The landscape miraculously changes so quickly from kilometre to kilometre, one would think these photos are of rides in different countries. No wonder they call South Africa the world in one country.
On the 26th is their one and only rest day and we will introduce these hardcore riders individually.
If you love Disney kind of movies, there are two words that you will hear but may miss if you’re not aware that this is the message between the lines that love always tries to tell us – let go!
Let go of how we think things are – there is incredible change happening in the world right now. There is only one constant, our core values and our principles that drive us collectively together as humanity.
Let go of the pressure we put on our children to vicariously achieve what we couldn’t and let them become who they want to be because every job is being disrupted and the rate of disruption will only speed up now because everyone is moving into the digital space.
Let go of what we think success looks like in monetary terms. The financial world is being disrupted by technologies like Blockchain and Hashgraph and the billionaires at Giving Pledge have come together to give half their billions away in their lifetime or when they pass to good causes because they understand that the current financial system will continue to benefit only a few.
Every day, do one small thing that challenges you and learn to let go. If it means picking up your dusty bicycle and cycling only around the block, then that is enough today. Tomorrow you will cycle around the block again and the next day and the next until some day, you will cycle to work and back. Soon your car will sit in the garage for most of the week. Every drop of petrol we save, saves our planet and helps fight greed.
Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret. ~ Don Miguel Ruiz Read ~ The Four Agreements
If it is not cycling; we know there is a small voice that has been nagging you your entire life to do what you love. Do that. Then connect the dots back to the Billionaires or the Foundations who can help you make that dream come true.
In the process of doing that one small thing every day, you learn to let go of fear; you will learn to love yourself. It’s as simple as that…just keep learning to authentically love yourself; mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, sexually and spiritually and you will liberate others of their own fears. Compassion, collaboration, tolerance, forgiveness, equality, honesty, gratitude…these will all follow naturally. Above all, find the joy in the journey.
